New St. Paul Head Start Agency, Inc. (NSPHS), is a non-profit organization located within the city of detroit. NSPHS was founded in 1994 in response to the growing number of young children in need of services in the proposed service area. NSPHS has been dedicated to uplifting the lives of its children and their families by providing high-quality, comprehensive early childhood and family engagement services. In 1994, NSPHS began as a head start subrecipient (delegate agency) of the city of detroit; in 2014, new st. Paul was funded as a birth-to-five head start/early head start grantee. As a grantee, NSPHS objective is to service the greater detroit community, particularly to the communities of highest need by serving 770 infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pregnant women. The NSPHS grantee service area consists of nine zip codes in the northwest and west areas of detroit: 48204, 48219, 48221, 48223, 48227, 48228, 48235, 48238, and 48239. Our goal is to continue its mission of preparing children for school by creating support systems that allow families to break the cycle of despair by replacing it with hope by “planting seeds for future success. Currently, we have two administrative offices,10 centers and 1 child care partner.

New St Paul Head Start Agency Inc. Is proud to partner with the Great Start Readiness Program in New St. Paul locations to provide blended GSRP/Head Start classrooms. Developed under a grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Education. New St Paul Head Start has 7 classrooms at 4 locations Metropolitan, Citadel, Corpus Christi and St. John.
